Draft for KINDRED's approval
Privacy, in plain words
Last updated 27 October 2026 · version privacy-2026-10-27.2
KINDRED FIVE collects only what the experience needs, and keeps more only when you agree to it. It uses that information to create your discovery and to deliver what you ask for, and it never sells it.
Who we are
KINDRED FIVE (mykindredfive.com) is run by Entre-tec, LLC, doing business as KINDRED, 602 Wetmore Ave, Everett, WA 98201, USA. KINDRED decides how your information is used and is responsible for it. You can reach us at hello@mykindredfive.com.
What we collect, and why
- For your free Kindred Five: your first name, your birth date, your birthplace (the place you choose, with its coordinates and time zone) and your birth time with how sure you are of it. We use them to calculate your birth chart and compare it with our catalog of notable people. No email address is needed for this.
- If you ask Echo a question: your question and an email address. We check the question before you pay, write Echo's reflection, and email it to you with your receipt and a link back to your result.
- If you ask us to email your Kindred Five: your email address, and when we sent it. We email you your five (their names, your resonance with each and a line about each life, never your birth details) with a link back to your result. Your result is then kept for 24 months, so that link keeps working.
- If you tick the birthday-card box: your first name, the month and day of your birth, your email address, and when and how you agreed. KINDRED may then send you a birthday card by email once a year. If you also ticked the new-offerings box, the card may mention ‘Your Soul's Curriculum’ and other new experiences from the creators of KINDRED; if you didn't, it won't.
- If you tick the new-offerings box: your first name, your email address, your birth details (your birth date, your birthplace with its coordinates and time zone, and your birth time with how sure you are of it), and when, where and how you agreed. KINDRED may then write to you, a few times a year at most, about ‘Your Soul's Curriculum’ and other new experiences from the creators of KINDRED. We keep your birth details so that, if you take part in one of these experiences, you don't need to enter them again. The box says so, and if you don't tick it, your birth details are deleted with your result.
- The two boxes are separate, start unticked, and are offered wherever we ask for your email. You can tick either, both or neither, and ticking one never ticks the other. Each permission, with what is kept for it, stays until you opt out, even after your result is deleted. Every email from us has an opt-out link for each, and opting out deletes what was kept for that permission.
- What you agreed to: when you tick the box to start your Kindred Five, ask us to email your five or go on to payment, we keep which version of the terms of use and of this notice was shown beside it, and when. When you tick an optional box, we keep its exact wording, when and where you ticked it, and the version of this notice at the time. This is how we can show what you agreed to, and it is kept and deleted with what it belongs to.
- Payment: you pay on Stripe's own secure page. We keep the amount, the date and Stripe's reference for the payment. We never see or store your card details.
- Your feedback: if you answer “Did Echo's response give you something useful to consider?”, we keep your answer and any comment with your question.
- Abuse protection: a one-way scrambled version of your IP address, used to limit misuse and deleted after 30 days.
- Usage: simple counts of steps completed (for example “results viewed” or “question started”), with no personal details, so we can see what works and improve it.
Why we are allowed to use it
- To give you what you ask for: your Kindred Five, and Echo's reflection when you buy one.
- Because you agreed: emailing you your Kindred Five, the birthday card, news of new experiences, and keeping your birth details for those experiences. You can withdraw either permission at any time with its opt-out link.
- Because the law requires it: payment records.
- Because we have a fair reason that doesn't override your rights: protecting the service from misuse, and counting steps (without personal details) to improve it.
No decision with legal or similarly serious effects on you is made automatically. Your five are chosen by fixed, published rules, and the texts are reflections only.
What the AI sees
The texts on your cards, your Recurring Resonance and Echo's reflections are written by Claude, an AI from Anthropic, under commercial terms that do not allow your information to be used to train its models. The AI receives your first name, the links between your chart and each of your five in plain words (for example “Sun in Virgo”), the approved facts about your five, and your question if you ask one. It never receives your birth date, your birth time or your birthplace.
What we never do
- We never show your birth details on your cards, your shared page, the PDF or our emails.
- We never sell your information or share it for advertising.
- We write to you about new experiences only if you ticked that box, and send a birthday card only if you ticked that one.
- We use the birth details kept with the new-offerings permission only for KINDRED's own new experiences. We never give them to another company to use for its own purposes. If one of these experiences is run by a company other than Entre-tec, LLC, we will tell you who before your details are used there, so you can opt out first.
- We use no advertising or tracking cookies, and no outside analytics.
Who helps us run KINDRED FIVE
- Railway (United States): hosting and databases.
- Stripe, and Link, its checkout service: payments, sales tax and VAT, refunds and receipts. Link sells your purchase to you on our behalf. They handle your card details, billing country and receipt under Stripe's own privacy policy.
- Resend (United States): delivering our emails, and telling us whether they arrived.
- Anthropic (United States): writing the texts, and checking questions before payment, as described above.
- An uptime monitor: checks that a public page loads. It sees none of your information.
Birthplaces are looked up in KINDRED's own copy of GeoNames place data, so what you type there isn't sent to anyone else. These providers act on our instructions under their data-processing terms. We will update this page before adding any other provider that handles your information.
Where your information is kept
In the United States. If you visit from the United Kingdom, the European Union or elsewhere, your information is transferred there. Where the law requires it, these transfers rely on our providers' data-processing terms, including the standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- A result without a purchase: deleted after 90 days, or after 24 months if you asked us to email it to you.
- A result with a purchase, with its questions, Echo's responses and your email address: kept for 24 months after your last payment, so your recovery link keeps working, then deleted.
- A birthday-card permission, with your first name, email address and the month and day of your birth: until you opt out, even after your result is deleted.
- A new-offerings permission, with your first name, email address and birth details: until you opt out, even after your result is deleted. Opting out deletes all of it.
- A minimal payment record (amount, date, reference): as payment and tax rules require, even after a deletion. It holds no birth details and no question.
- The scrambled IP addresses: 30 days.
- Technical error records: 90 days. They hold identifiers only, never birth details or questions.
- Backups: deleted information can remain in our hosting backups for up to about four weeks, until those backups are replaced.
Your choices and rights
You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your result, your questions, Echo's responses and either permission with what is kept for it, birth details included. You can object to how we use your information, and withdraw either permission at any time. Write to hello@mykindredfive.com with your result link or question number, so we can find your information and know it is yours. We reply within 30 days. A deletion removes everything in one step; only the minimal payment record stays, as payment rules require.
If you live in the United Kingdom or the European Union, you can also complain to your data protection authority. If you live in California or another US state with a privacy law, you have the rights that law gives you; we do not sell or share personal information, and we will never treat you differently for using your rights.
Cookies and your browser
- One cookie connects this browser to your own result, so you can come back to it. It lasts 90 days.
- Your browser also keeps the question you are writing, on your own device, so it isn't lost if you leave the page.
- Stripe's payment page, on Stripe's own site, uses its own cookies to prevent fraud.
There are no advertising or tracking cookies, so there is no cookie banner.
Security
Everything travels over HTTPS. Our databases are not reachable from the internet. Inside KINDRED's own tools, birth details stay hidden unless a person needs to see them, and every such view is logged. Card details never reach our systems.
A note on what you write
Echo reflects on your own life. Please don't include health details, or private information about other people, in your question. If you do, it is used only to answer you and is kept and deleted with your question.
Age
KINDRED FIVE is for adults aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If we learn that we have, we delete it.
Changes
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and its date first.
